| My Journey in Temasek Polytechnic
After 3 years, my student life in Temasek Polytechnic has finally come to an end. Honestly, i think these 3 years have been the best years of my life so far.
My journey started 3 years ago when i received a SMS in the morning informing me that i've been accepted into Veterinary Technology. I can still remember that moment vividly! I was half awake in the aljunied flat and when i saw that SMS i was SO happy! Then there was the hassle of filling in all those forms and the orientation pack and SECOND LIFE. My goodnezz. Can you still remember that? I do! That stupid thing..
Up next was the orientation. The ASc freshies gathered at LT5 and Rebecca sat on my right and Rachel on left! But sadly, after the first day (which i complete hated), i made up my mind that i didn't like my class. I still remember telling my mum "I'm never going back to that place." And so i didn't. I skipped the rest of the orientation. I also had extreme withdrawal symptoms from AHS and i missed Adeline, Bot, Imee, Tze and my old classmates so freaking much.
So yes...i barely knew anyone on the first day of school and felt extremely weird 'cos this class was very..class-y. They wanted class tees, class blog, class contact list and this was very different from the heck-care attitude my sports class used to have.
But before i knew it, i started loving this class and the class spirit.
I love how our class backs each other up all the time. Say someone is late for tutorial classes, someone will come up with some funny excuse to tell the tutor. (oops)
I love how 10+ of us will squeeze into the fireman lift after a tutorial class to go to yet another class/ lecture.
I love how we'll all sit outside the LT while waiting for the next lecture to start.
I love how we sit outside ITAS in a circle with plates of food in our hands when ITAS gets too crowded.
I love how the guys go "ITAAASSSS"
I love how we'll study together at the concourse at night during the term tests/ semestral exams.
In fact, i don't remember a semester where i dread going back to school. Usually by the 4th-5th week of holiday i would start to miss school and would be super excited to see everyone again when school started.
And...I realized 1 big event took place each academic year.
#1. Lombok 2009
I have soooo many fond memories from this trip. It was on this trip that i got much closer to Zhiyu, Aixin &Pexang. I get really sad talking about the trip and kids 'cos i miss them so much. And looking at all their little notes and drawings makes me tear a little. This trip was definitely one of the best things that has ever happened to me. They will always have a place in my heart.

#2. Youth Olympic Games 2010
Before the actual games, we had training at the Polo Club and another club (can't remember!) prior to the event so we did really learn alot about horses. This was probably one of the best experiences of my life 'cos all of us got to work very closely with the horses. I still remember grumpy Astroboy who was strangely good tempered during the whole YOG. And all the new friendships made. Amanda, Yara, riders from SO many countries. :')

#3. SIP 2011
This is no doubt one of the best experiences of my entire life so far. I learnt so much, i met some of the nicest people i've ever met in my life and accomplished many things.
I got to meet these great people.
Have crazy packed pantry lunches.
And this supa fun group of people. ALL of them are supa smart and ALL extremely nice and fun to be with. I really had some great times with these people. Love them to bits!
Not to forget Prof N, Liza, the-best-mentor-on-earth, and Shoooah.

It was also here that i got to be the emcee for the Young Researcher's Night.
Apart from these big events, if you read my blog you should know by now that i freakin' love my class. Here are 10 random things A9K2 did together:
#1. CCN Day
We organized a pet photography session and sold badges. We "borrowed" a husky, golden retriever and of course our class dogs, Joy &Boy! In the end we only earned like $6+ after a hard day's work 'cos we ordered too many badges. Hahaha! It was so funny!

#2. Birdpark fieldtrip
I remember everyone complaining about wearing jeans 'cos it was considered a "practical lesson" but it was cool seeing some hawks up close and going to the park as a class!

I loved Napfa day too! NOT because of the stations but because of my awesome class.

Pity i don't have pictures of this! The only thing i remember was all of us freezing to death and warming our hands with the hot water in the glasses. HAHA.
#6. USS 2010
The whole group of us caught Step Up 3 in Vivo first before heading to USS! Almost died on some rides but it was soooo fun. I can't remember exactly why i was so happy that night, but i remember telling myself at night that that day was one of the best days of my life.

This was sucha krazy chalet i had SO much fun! The guys running around shouting shots shots shots shots shots shots~ Surprising Shiying with a cake. Minghao pexang dancing. Weishan, Char, Brian climbing into the freezer. Singing (shouting) songs all night. Zhiyu and i borrowing our neighbour's bikes to find Jiaqi.

We've stuck together since Year 1 and i'm so glad we did. These girls make school SO enjoyable. All our personalities are so different it's funny how all of us get along so well.
First off, Charrrrrrmaine! Charmaine and i think alike! Many times when Zhiyu asks me for my opinion on the phone, Zhiyu will tell me "That's what Charmaine just told me". Also, both of us are probably the vainest amongst us 4. Hahaha! We have almost the same shade of foundation, we talk about eyecandies, celebrities, makeup, dance, and fashion. We love Cheryl Cole, Swan Lake and Yiruma. We both LOVE taking pictures. Also, last year during SIP, both of us were caught in a similar situation and it was just very nice to have someone to talk to and someone who understands what i'm going through (and without judging me!). Although we didn't text/ call much throughout the SIP period, we know we've got each other's back whenever we need help. And Char gives the best advise ever. She always knows the right things to say when i'm feeling down or upset. I-I love you like a love song babaye~ And i keep hittin repeat-peat-peat-peat-peat~
Secondly, Rachel! She has been through ALL kinds of stuff with me. In fact, she used to be the first person i see every weekday 'cos we walk to school together everyday. I remember the time i lost my entire bag in the swimming complex. She went all the way to the police station with me and missed lecture because of that.. I was so touched! We also joined OMEP together and stressed over finding suitable books for storytelling at Pasir Ris library. And who can forgot us running in MBS just to catch Wicked?! And of course our cycling adventures and maaaaany movie outings (and sneaking in bubbletea and food). Love how our outings are so hassle-free 'cos we agree on timing/ place very quickly. I also love how we always burst out in song when a song we like plays, and how we name all the cats in the neighbourhood, and how we both watch The Voice and The Vampire Diaries and how excited you'll be when you go "can i tell you about glee pleeeeeease?"
Lastly, Zhiyu! Zhiyu is my gay fo' life. We're always chatting on whatsapp about everything! We both are the crazies in the group. Always spoiling nice photos by sticking out our tongues, doing mad dares, pulling each other down the stairs, always attempting to scare Char. We've gone to donate blood together, brought Boy out, gone to my house to play the piano, gone to hers to play the guzheng (and jam with the piano haha!). The funniest part is that we're constantly bickering 'cos we have suuupa different points of view. But we never get angry with each other 'cos that's what friends are for right?  I love music-talking with her too 'cos we both LOVE music like crazy! Like how she psycho-ed me to like Mika and how i psycho-ed her to like 2ne1. And BILs!!! Hahahaha. Talking about crushes is always fun. And i love how i have SO many of her friends/ family's contact number in my phone. HAHA. Now let me continue with the final day of my life in TP - Graduation.
Graduation Ceremony 2012
On Tuesday (22 May) I took full day leave 'cos i was well, lazy to walk to and fro school 4 times. At 3.30PM, the time the 4 of us planned to meet, it was SO freakin' hot! So i did the craziest thing and cabbed to school. It was very hot and i didn't wanna perspire before the ceremony ok! *defensive* I was scolded by Cheeyou and Rachel but Char was fully supportive, haha! But well i started perspire after awhile anyway 'cos it was super hot even in the evening. And the grad gown didn't help either. But here are some pictures before the ceremony!

We reached the TCC slightly before 6 and went to our assigned seats. While waiting, i had nothing to do and since some friends were all sitting around me.... pictures from the front camera!  I totally forgot i had a camera in my bag.

After the ceremony, we only got to snap a few shots before we were asked to leave the auditorium. And when we went out it was so difficult to find everyone and ALL the teachers weren't there. I was quite disappointed but the thought of chalet cheered me up immediately! Char's dad sent Char, Zhiyu, Rachel &I to Coasta Sands, following Pexang's car. Msia cars unite!

And after our entertaining "pole dance" from Minghao and Roy, i can't remember when but Minghao DIED and starting vomitting outside. Then he came in and slept on the floor.
HAHA i love this picture. After a few minutes, he started puking again and it was so smelly!
K lah, but the kind boys carried him to the bed where he puked some more so they rolled him down to the mattress. The girls stayed on the two beds! It was crazy lah. Roy got his knees scrapped so there was blood on the sheets and he kept lying on the clean sheets with his sweaty body! *shakes fist* and stole my clean pillow. *death stare* It was really cute though, all 10+ of us in a room.

At about 1am+ (i think?) it started to rain so all of us went in to watch WWE/ talk/ chill. THEN, i think it was aixin/ charmaine's idea to play charades so i downloaded a random app on my phone and it was so supa hilarious i almost died laughing!!!! We all took turns to act. The only rule was - No talking.
Here are some things we had to act out.

"Have no one talk to you for the rest of your life."
"Be the first person to walk on mars."
"To share your bathroom with 10 goats."
"Eat liver for the rest of your life."
This was so freakin funny 'cos zhiyu just pointed to her side on her body and Char actually managed to guess that it was Liver.

Weixin gave up trying to make us guess "on" he just went On lah.

Other funny single words that i remember were Taxi Driver, Mother Theresa, Mermaid, Hamster, Worm. Somehow Char's Mother Theresa became big boobs, monk, nun. And Taxi Driver by Brian my goodness. Roy and his mermaid. He acted out MAID. Pexang's hamster and WORM. Hahahahahahaha i wish i video-ed all of them lah! Seriously laughed till there were tears in my eyes.
We only stopped playing at about 4AM and some went to sleep while a few of us went out to talk some more.I remember going to sleep at 5+! And it wasn't deep sleep 'cos i could still hear people's voices. All the girls slept on the same bed. I'm still amazed at how we squeezed together! Thennnnn, at 7ish aixin and i had to wake up to go to work. And Pexang suddenly woke up from his sleep with his blur face and went "I send you all to work" Whoaaa i was (still am!) seriously grateful 'cos we were running late. Aixin and i survived the work day with < 2 hours of sleep thanks to our sharp listening skills. *laughs*
The chalet was just the PERFECT way to end the 3 years in poly. I'm actually feeling quite sad as i'm typing this entry 'cos i don't know when all of us will come together again for dinner/ chalet. These people are so fun loving and i always feel so comfortable with them. I really miss attending lectures and tutorials with them too. Actually ANYTHING is fun with them. Some days i think "Maybe i should have chosen Biomedical Science instead". But when i think of these people i've met over the years, i regret nothing! And the lecturers who have taught us - Mr Yeemon, Dr Chooi, Dr. Jason Chang, Ms Sumitha, Mr Joshua Chan, Marissa, Dr. Kenneth Tong, Dr. Jomer, Dr. Walter Wei, Ms Chua, Dr. Chan. All of them are so warm and nice i'm definitely gonna miss them so much. Especially Mr Yeemon &Dr. Chooi who helped me and encouraged me SO much during my SIP and uni application. And Dr. Jomer who offered his advise when i needed it. I seriously have so many fond memories of Temasek Polytechnic i don't wanna leaveeeee.
But i guess all good things must come to an end. Thank you A9K2 for the great times! My journey has been nothing short of amazing.

| Friendship
You know how chinese shows always say 感情是可以培养的? I don't believe in that! I think in a friendship/ relationship, there has to be an already existing chemistry between two people. And from there, the relationship grows.
That was a random thought. Yesterday, Rachel and i were (once again) bickering with each other on the train and i asked her "How do we make friends?" "How did we get so close that it's now perfectly alright to insult each other and not get pissed?'
That's why i get pretty amazed when i can spend time with a person alone and NOT feel awkward. I.e Not feeling the need to fill every silence. Especially new friends!
So anyway. After work yesterday, I met Rachel @Tampines and we trained down to Dhoby to meet Char at her workplace - Vanilla Gastro Wine Bar! It is a quiet, cosy and cute cafe that is located at Penang Road.
My first question when i stepped in was "Where is the kitchen?" 'cos Char was the only one working! Then i realized..... our dear friend was gonna cook for US. How cool is that?! Ok lah, the magical M had a big part to play but still!
I had green curry rice and Rachel had Yakiniku Don. And the curry was.so.freakin.delicious. I feel like eating it now! We were entertained by ghost stories and magic tricks while waiting for her to cook! Hehe.
After that we laptop-ed and magazine-d our night away while waiting for Char to knock off. And at 1030PM, two customers came in for wine. Hahahahaha! The look on Char's face was priceless.
But anyway, she managed to get off at 11ish and we took the train back.
And can i say - i'm get very happy when my friends are happy!
Apart from my nice Friday night, my work week was as slack as ever again. Very thankful for company from the chem eng people and of course Rachel and Cheongheng my lunch buddies! And a really nice supervisor i guess. On friday..... i forgot to bring my phone charger. And i only had like 50% left in the morning. *stabs self* Thankfully CH's friend had a charger so i managed to charge it in the end. Oh, it was CCN day too~! There were some really funny stalls this year. And strangely no dunking machine!

| About one month ago, after the TP job and the cat job. I subconsciously started to believe that i shouldn't expect anything good to happen. In fact, i got to the point where i wasn't expecting at all. If it happens, then good for me. If not, then just too bad. I seriously had no more room for any more disappointment.
Same thing again now - just that i actually think i've already given up.
But then this tiny bit of hope fills my mind again.
It sucks to hope.
And wait.

| Happy Mother's Day,
to all the mothers out there! And of course my mother, the strongest woman i know. Thank you for everything you've done.
"Farewell" dinner for Gidz on Monday night was nice! I had my doctor's appointment before that and i love appointments too 'cos it makes me feel like my skin is getting better. It helps that my doctor is really nice too. But anyway, Thai FOOOOD.

And work. Thinking of work makes me sick. Haha, i kid lah. The past week has been nice because i didn't do anything much. Seriously, the highlight of the day is when Leelian and gang come down to the greenhouse to count algae. I can't believe the first time i saw her was exactly 8 months ago. I can totally remember how supa nice she was and how she taught me almost everything i needed to know. Her lame jokes too. LOL.
Oh, also, from the bottom of my heart, i'd like to thank Rachel &Sy for popping by school! Hahaha. And Cheongheng of course. My slack-ness cannot be compared to Cheongheng's. HAHA. It's nice how we have so much to catch up on after AHS. And this Rachel! I met her outside ITAS and she whipped out BBT! You have no idea how happy i was. Hahaha.
For the entire week, i've been looking forward to Friday 'cos Shoah's exam is finally over and it was time for us to meet up for dinner! Met Shah first at the escalator and when he led me to the restaurant i immediately went  when i saw W*uhong and L*iza. Finally ate the ayam bakar that S has been talking about. Doesn't ayam bakar sound like a bad word? Like "you ayam BAKAR!!!"
The area around my mouth started peeling AGAIN so L suggested that we go to Sephora to get some mosturizer. And that 600$ perfume @#$%& I had an awkward moment with a salesman but thankfully S came and the awkward situation shifted to him instead. *laughs* But that mosturizer did work for me!
After our sephora adventure, we went to Coldstone!
I ordered Cookie Mintster only because i misread Minster as Monster. #fail But anything cookie and oreo-y is fine by me! We ordered chocolate coated waffles for all 4 cups so when the price came up to $14.50, i turned to S and said
"Why so cheap ah?"
And that Shoah went
"Excuse me, she'd like to pay more."
Hahahahaha basket.
I love how it doesn't even feel like we haven't met for 3 months. So much to talk about. I miss them so freakin much!
